We have known our partner farms & businesses in Egypt for more than 20 years, and we visit and audit them several times a year. Kräutertempel is a member of the Fachverband der Gewürzindustrie e.V. (German Spice Industry Association), Bonn, and benefits from the association’s knowledge and expertise in product knowledge and in the quality and analysis requirements under the applicable EU regulations.

Product safety
Our imported raw materials undergo strict sensory checks on receipt at our organic-certified warehouse.
We work with various independent, accredited laboratories in Germany (GBA, Bilacon, Eurofins or others), where we commission various analyses (microbiology, residues, contaminants etc.).
Deliveries to our customers are only made after analytical and sensory testing and release by our QA department.
Sustainability
We oblige our suppliers and their business partners to comply with a code of conduct. In addition, our main supplier (El Malek C.) has been a member of Sedex, a platform for increasing transparency in the supply chain, for many years.
DIN EN ISO 26000:2010 serves as the basis for understanding and establishing sustainability. Both Kräutertempel and our supplier in Egypt hold the corresponding certification. On the basis of the German Energy Efficiency Act, El Malek C. holds the ISO 50001.2018 energy management certificate.
